1/4 Drill Guide Package includes (1) a drill and collar, (2) an index pin, (3) a distance gauge base, (4) a 1/8 spacer for centering on 1/2″ wood (also on 5/8″ when used in combination with the 1/16 brass shims), (5) five precision CNC bored drill guides, and (6) a center guide block.
Our drill guides are CNC bored to within .002″ tolerance, hardened to 45 Rc for a lifetime of use, and then black oxide coated.

The need for a shim between the workpiece and the brass clamp discs with the 1/8 inch spacer in place should be better described and illustrated.

I purchased the Dowelmax about a year ago. I have found that the jig is of the highest quality materials and is very accurate. When making a table with centerpost and legs extending from it, the 32 dowel joints lined perfectly. In the past I tried several other jigs of varying cost. All of these have been sent on to new owners. Dowel joinery is very strong and adding more dowels to the joint is easy for those cases that require extra strength. The Dowelmax also made it easy to drill angled holes needed in a chair seat. Whether the project is large or small, the Dowelmax is the best.

Love the tool and the precision I can achieve.
Only complaint is that the documentation is a bit light. Videos are great for learning but when you need to look up something ,sorting through them is not very efficient What’s with the wrinkled pdf manual.
I bought the 1/4 conversion kit and did not find any info on how to modify things. Did not understand the need for the shim for the clamps and spent a long time trying to figure out how to deal with the clearance issue. I eventually figured it out and it worked great, but why not just provide a simple pdf to make it easier for everyone.
